The Governor’s office highlighted the partnership between MSHDA and HFH-GTR, which has made the Habitat Ultimate Home Makeover project possible. Gov. Granholm and her staff were on site at the Fekken Family home job site in Grawn between on Wednesday, August 4th.

Habitat is Chosen As SwingShift Charity!
Habitat is thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected as a charity for the 2010 season of SwingShift and the Stars. We’ve been paired with “star” Kirstin Marinoff and dance instructor, Jody Brown. You can read more about Kristin and Jody at www.swingshiftandthestars.com
Join us the first Friday of each month, starting in September, at the Opera House to help us cheer on our dancers and help Habitat raise enough money to build a home! Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses.
Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor—sweat equity—into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
